Called Good's Auto Service and spoke with Brian. I let him know what code is coming up on our Prius (P261B), but that it is intermittent (check engine light goes on for a day than off for a few weeks), knew that the code is a water pump code, and a water pump either works or doesn't so I thought it may be the sensor or just needs coolant flushed. Was told by Brian that just to check the code would be $125! This is AFTER I told him we already know the code. Thanked him for his time and hung up.

I am sorry to say that the water pump on your Prius is electronically controlled. The water pump system is more complex than it either works or doesn’t. Don’t you agree that finding out what is wrong makes more sense than randomly performing repairs or services. If we can help you out in the future, please don’t hesitate to call 717-626-4329. Great shop. They always do a great job servicing our vehicles for a great price. They also give out loaner vehicles, which is really convenient as we can drop our car off and still get to work or run errands
